New features added with 9.0.1 Feature Pack 8 and beyond

A few weeks ago it dawned on me that there doesn't seem to be a useful (at least that I know of) list of the features added to Domino over the last few releases. Then Lisa asked me for this list for a STS customer. While this is not definitive, it is a least a starting point to see what new features were added when, and maybe more importantly, what was added. This is a tad difficult to collate due to IBM's seriously disastrous decision to go the "feature pack" way for a while.

It should also be noted that as of 10 and higher IBM/HCL have reverted back to fix packs being fix packs. So no new features should be getting added outside of a release revision (for example no new features in 10.0 FP1, but there are new features in 10.0.1).

So here goes:

9.0.1 (IBM)

  5. SNI Domino HTTP support. Server Name Indication (disabled by default)
  6. DAOS tier 2 storage
  7. Docker image in UBI format
  8. Java 1.8.0.242
  9. Save (well export) document to PDF
  10. 128 bit AES local encryption
  11. Updated templates (including mail and pubnames)
  12. Cross Domain support for Traveler to get ID's from ID Vault

  12. PEM SSL support (not sure this made it into Gold, was in Beta)
  13. IP based password lockout
  14. Verse is now included with install file. Not enabled.
  15. Reverted awful calendar entry design from 11.
12.0.1 (HCL)
  1. DKIM on outbound email
  2. 3rd party online meeting integrations (Teams, GTM, Zoom, etc.) in calendar
  3. Backup and restore additions
  4. R4 and R5 sections removed from NAB design. If you are on R5 don't upgrade....yeah, I'm being snarky.
  5. Adminp auto process name requests.
  6. CertMgr enhancements (which is good, because quite honestly the first iterations were crap).
  7. NSL on server ID files (Windows only).
  8. Improved visual fixes in Notes, including HTML rendering
  9. Resizable properties box.
     
12.0.2 (HCL)
  1. FreeBusy time lookups to O365
  2. ActiveDirectory Password Sync Installations enhancements
  3. Policy for default mail font (the body of emails). Users have had this option since 11.0.1, the policy to control this is what is new.
  4. Support for SELinux
  5. Admin Quick (Adminq)
  6. 256 bit AES database encryption
  7. Domino Restyle
  8. Native VSS support for Domino on Windows
  9. NIFNSF settings now exposed in the server document
  10. Simpler DAOS encryption consistency
  11. OpenSSL is now 3.0.5 (was 1.1.1a previously)

14.0 (HCL)
