We all know what a complete phaff on it was to add a place to the connectors, well IBM had addressed this in a very nice way. When a place is viewed on the web, simply click the link below:

Hi Darren,

Thanks for your posts keeping us up to speed. Maybe you can save me the digging by letting me know if the 8.2 connectors will work ok with a 8.1 Domino Quickr server. I have a person who is having a problem with his 8.1 connectors install and I thought I'd try the 8.2 version which apparentely addresses some bugs. But I don't want to make it worse.

Start Quote (from infocenter):

New 8.2 versions of the connectors are available for your IBM® Lotus Quickr users to work with documents from IBM Lotus Notes®, IBM Lotus Sametime®, Microsoft® Windows® Explorer, or Microsoft Office applications. Connector versions 8.1.1 and 8.2 work with a Lotus Quickr 8.2 server. Connector 8.1 (or lower) users should download 8.2 connectors to be able to work with an Lotus Quickr 8.2 server.

End Quote.

So, my guess is yes you should be good to go, but YMMV ;)

Thanks again Darren. I'm planning a Quickr server upgrade in a week or two, and will read the documentation thoroughly as usual. Today, I just need to solve a potential bug in the earlier connector release that is affecting one user. Looks like there should be no problem upgrading just him for now and see if it solve his issue.

Do you know if the Connector supports 64 bit Windows? Would be nice. If yu got a Vista 64 Bit machine, the connector doesn't install at all. That's not great....

@5, I'd be surprised if it supported x64 yet/if ever. Even the 8.5 Notes client doesn't support Vista Business 64 bit.
