Two things in a week I’d never seen before (or the gaul of some people)
This week has been a week of firsts. Not firsts that you strive for, just firsts that you'd never seen before.
1) On the way back from the Jackson, MS LCTY Ernie and I were driving back through Birmingham, AL. And boy, did wee see something very strange going on in the car in front of us. I've seen some interesting things driving around the Interstate since 1996 (people watching portable TV's being the one that comes to mind), but I still can't fathom this one......the driver of the car in front of us was working out! With barbells no less. He would pump his right tricep for while, then switch to the left. All while doing 75+ MPH. I'm not sure how he managed not to put the drivers side window out, but he looked like an old pro.....now given how bad ATL traffic is I think if I did this, I'd be like Arnie in no time. Except I'd look like Popeye, big arms, tiny, puny legs ;)
THEN
2) We get back to ATL and go see a customer about a BES upgrade. This was one of those "getting to know you.....yes, we know what we are doing calls". Except it wasn't. In we walk and the customer shows us his new, shiny Dell BES server. "The previous vendor got stuck, so I'm using you" was the gist of the conversation. OK, so we look at the server.....and......the previous vendor had left in the middle of a BES 5 install midstream, on screen. It was almost like he'd been taken like the 4400. Poof, gone. MSI left where it was. Apparently he's gone to get a RIM upgrade and migration tool and never came back! I guess I'm the upgrade and migration tool he went out for.
My thinking here is that he was an Exchange goober and the DIIOP scared him.
The strangest things....

most exchange goobers that do blackberry do know the other mail system :) and the small 3rd one thats went into the deadpool as of 5
I was there for a few weeks, pre-olympics, and saw baby elephants being conceived and born in the traffic jams.
When I was there, it snowed. The entire place ground to a halt. No-one had seen that before.
Love it.
