BlackBerry DevCon 2008 Day 3 Recap
Read my day 1 recap here.
Read my day 2 recap here.
Day 3. My presentation day. At 10:15 session E12 kicked off, "Advance MDS Studio Development Techniques". Turn out was impressive and thanks to all for coming. The questions were useful and intelligent and I was mobbed at the stage (always a good sign").
The presentation is attached below, feel free to distribute it, but please don't change it ;)
I put in a lot of effort to dispel the myths surrounding MDS-IS (aka MDS Runtime, aka MDS Studio) development. That was pretty much all I did, what with vendor meetings and meeting up with other MDSers from all over the world. I did get some interesting information around having icons change when you track over them (like in Java). That will be one of several demos I'll be knocking up over the next several days/weeks as travel and work schedules allow.
Demos that "may" be released include:
1. Region demo for controlling screen design (as outlined in the presentation)
2. A few PoC examples around hitting a Java app
3. A complete Lotus Domino based web services example using a local address book template (I'm thinking this will be a fully usable and installable)
Let me know if you'd like to see anything else demoed (within reason!).
Also, check out the first of the examples available for download.
