I got to thinking about this earlier today...

How can I as a customer/partner/interested party let IBM know of my discontent about the lack of urgency in releasing Domino 9.0.2?

I noddled on this for a few minutes and came up with some ways. A few (along with cons) are listed below:

1) Contact your IBM rep and tell them.
Pros:

Erm....
Cons:

If you can find them, by the time you hang up they will have a new job.

2) Move to another platform.
Pros:

Real Outlook support
Cons:

It'll cost a fortune

3) PMR
Pros:

Fast
Cons:

Well, it's a PMR

I have finally settled on number 3, create a PMR. See, I think they only way IBM will take notice and do something (new regime or otherwise) is to inundate the support channel with this request. It kind of worked for TLS support in Domino (prior even to the Poodle debacle....I have stories about this if you hit me up at MWLUG) so there is some hope with that outlet. Now, there won't be an SPR as IBM will never admit to 9.0.2 not being released is a bug, but still, enough PMR's could at least make some IBM executives uncomfortable in their Game Of Thrones.

So if you have PMR creation capability, I cordially invite you to enter a PMR requesting 9.0.2 be released soon. Here's the link to IBM PMR creation page https://www-947.ibm.com/support/servicerequest/Home.action

Here's mine:

Got my bullshit answer back....

"I would like to inform you that as of the moment we don't have any ETA for 9.0.2 yet as it was push due to 9.0.1 fp6 and fp7 to be release soon"

Good luck. But to put it in context, I blogged about a bug with getAllEntriesByKey / getAllDocumentsByKey a while ago { http://www.intec.co.uk/apparent-java-getalldocumentsbykey-getallentriesbykey-bug/. It was raised as a PMR and SPR'd shortly after 9.0. It got missed from 9.0.1. I raised it again at IBM Connect in February and it was pushed for inclusion in 9.0.2. Hopefully you'll have to wait less than four years for a good resolution to this SPR. On the bright side, at least they knew which product you were referring to. } It was raised as a PMR and SPR'd shortly after 9.0. It got missed from 9.0.1. I have contacted my sales rep and he has escalated the problem. I have got a call from the manager for ICs products in our country. I have explained him that we are very disappointed that loyal Notes/Domino customers who pay much money for software maintenance got nothing in the last years. I have made it clear that we have made a huge investment in Notes Domino in the last 10 years and that we are not believing that any IBM cloud product can provide such a good a ROI as Notes Domino. He promised that he will escalate the complain further and we will be called back by someone higher in the food chain. We will see if we get some answers from this call.

Sadly it is increasingly obvious that IBM has no interest in On Premise. Every time I speak to IBM they only seem to want us as a partner to push Cloud... its always Saas. The honest answer is any customer that migrates to the cloud is going mostly Microsoft (with a the odd other product). My colleague is maxed out doing migrations to Office365 or MS on premise.. I haven't had a new Domino customer in god. 4-5 years now. Those that are on are increasingly disullsioned and moving away.

How does IBM calculate the "Support Lifecycle" of their products? It seems to average 8 years after release. The last release, 9.0.1, would imply the end of life for Notes/Domino around 2021.
